Evo FQ 340 for sale

Hi, I'm new to the forum and would like to ask if anyone knows anything about this Evo? As I'm very interested.

It needs the belts doing and a full service, how much would I need to spend roughly?

Thanks.

£500 approx is the going rate for an 18k service with the belts done (at a specialist).

Its also not an MR - they disnt do an MR in FQ 340 Spec.

Stu is right I see car is advertised as a mr but it's not but she looks a nice clean fq340 but if the seller is thinking of letting it go he should be making sure it's service is up to date and a full years mot get some underside pics and ask for service recordprice wise looks about right good luck with purchase

Thank you stu, i can't believe it's not a MR and he advertised it as. Also he hasn't got a clue about the tyres and when the belts was last done or how much it would cost to change.

The bonnet looks different colour too and it seems like he ain't got much confidence in selling.

So I guess I'm still looking!!!

I don't think it really matters that it isn't an MR.

As a 9, and an FQ model, it will have all the same bits as the 8MR anyway...

If this was an official 9MR, it could only be a FQ360 by HKS version, and very unlikely you'd get one for this price anyway...

The main concern is that the trader doesn't know when the belts were last done and so for safety you should probably factor in that cost (due to mileage and age), plus the tyres too...

Also if it has paint issues then it all goes into the price you can negotiate it for...but I suppose if you don't have much confidence in the seller then that doesn't really help!

Good luck in your search!

Having just booked mine in for the same treatment... I'd budget £700-800 for full service (all the oils/ayc), spark plugs and belts change from specialist. Certainly in the South of country.

When I looked at buying mine the door looked a different colour on the photos but it was just the lighting. But Just looking at the mess of the drivers side mat would be enough put me off, who try's to sell the car without cleaning it!

Biggest concern is it's likely to have been a daily runner 365 days a year hence will have gone through 10 winters of salty roads.

Judging by the engine bay you need to be checking the chassis for the rusting ticking time bomb that so many of these are.

Yea he did say there is some corrosion on the chassis and that it's been under sealed 4 years ago. Probably a rust bucket lol

Stay well clear then - plenty more out there or look at a recent import from a trusted trader such as Guy Francis or Torque gt.

Stay away if under sealed mate especially if was to 'deal' with the 'corrosion' or more likely rott. Not many about now that are not suffering from the dreaded rust unfortunately and I included my own in that! (Had it 8 years+) although it's nowhere near as bad as others about. A guy I know of recently got a red evo 8,looked mint but only when it was up on the ramp having a exhaust gasket replaced was it found to be a serious rott box which looks like getting re shelled if can find a rust free shell!! Was imported about 8 years ago on 57k miles. Tread VERY carefully with these now.

I have to agree with a lot of the above comments saying walk away. As said if it was treated 4 years ago for rust, then it will more than likely fail it's next mot on corrosion hence why it's not for sale with a 12 month ticket. He obviously knows it's a tea bag.

I've been interested in this car too, but found out it's extremely far away from me.

I came across this older thread with same reg, says spotted with lady driving it at the time:

It's hard to find a good Evo9.
