12k mile Evo 6

So this kind of happened.....

A couple of people on here know about this but here goes......

I spotted in the 'Cars for sale' section, a 12k mile Evo6, it had me intrigued.
I left it alone, but kept finding myself re-reading the ad and wondering how good it is, and would it be a good call to buy it and replace ours.

Lots of phone calls, texts, emails and a lot of patience later, we agreed to view the car.

We did the 8hour round trip in our Evo... Set off at 6.30am and arrived at around 11.30am to be greeted to the car out on the drive waiting for us.

First thing I noticed was a few small storage dents, but this is no big deal and easily sorted.
Naunton (the owner) came out to introduce himself and the car, very nice guy.

So then, the interior is literally like brand new, ours is good at only 33k miles but this is like showroom.

The engine bay is again really really good, just in need of a detail and some manifold heat shields & bolts.

The underside is good, not 100% perfect but very good, especially as it is not undersealed.

The only bit that 'put us off' was the bodywork, the front bumper needs re-painting, along with the bonnet, and to do this nicely it means blowing in the front wings. It also has 8 or so small dents which all need pulling out, and it needs a professional mop as its very swirly.

Then looked through all the paperwork history, very very nice paperwork history.

Took the car for a drive, first car I have driven with a twin plate clutch which I dare say will take some getting used to.
Drives very nice, just as you would expect.

After the test drive we spoke about price, I was a little lower than his lowest and after some thought and some chatting we have agreed a price and the car has now been paid for.

It will arrive with us next Wednesday, and I will then begin bringing it right back up to standard.

A few pics here, but they really don't do it justice at all.
These are the pics I was sent of the car before viewing, I didn't take any whilst viewing.

So it has a few subtle upgrades:

Ralliart Alloy pedals
Ralliart triple gauges
Ralliart ECU
HKS intake
HKS blow off valve (this is getting taken off)
Magnex downpipe & de-cat
Blitz Nur Spec cat back
ARP rod bolts
HKS lightweight flywheel
HKS twin plate clutch
New Carbotech front pads
New performance friction two piece front discs
R888 tyres
Enkei alloys (these will be getting taken off)

All the original parts are with the car, but it will stay mainly as it is in terms of performance upgrades.

From new the car had the optional sunroof
Fogs
Floor mats

Will be putting the private plate on it from ours, and changing the wheels, lowering it, and doing all the bits which need doing to bring it back to truly immaculate condition.

Thanks mate, yes wheels are one of the first things coming off, think we will most likely go with putting the originals back on to be honest.

We have a guy that comes round and does dents in our cars, its amazing what he can do to be honest

Yes I know what you mean, but I do like the Icelle blue.
And thanks, yes the current one is lovely, but this one is just a bit more special.

Looks lovely. If it were mine I'd be taking the aftermarket parts off it and keeping it 100% standard.

Stunning car, the interior looks brand new!

Nice to see some are still in this condition. Was going to say its a shame too see these cars sat about and not used to their potential but with r888's on and good pads and discs I think its safe to say someone will have had some fun in it!

I am tempted to do that, but as I will use it at times I may well leave the bits on and return it to original once I eventually come to sell it on.

Thanks, the interior really is just immaculate.
And yes, with the subtle mods on the car, I think it has had some spirited driving, which is what these cars are all about

Looks stunning mate.
But have to ask, why a twin plate clutch at 12k miles?

Cheers Aj
