No, but they are naive and uninformed where suspension is concerned.

Cheap suspension will always sell, especially if aggressively advertised as BC is, because the majority want to lower the car for aesthetic purposes, have no concept of what is good and what is bad (due to never having driven a car with decent suspension fitted and set-up correctly) and think suspension is great if it makes the car stiff. Also, due to pride, many will not admit the suspension they have bought and fitted is crap.

I wouldn't say they hate it, but are unaware that it is actually reducing the capability of the car in the real world, and will live with the crashy harsh ride and poor unequal damping thinking that is what 'sports' suspension is like.

It's nothing to do with being fit for purpose, it's about fitting something which is a total backward step to the standard OE set-up, which won't last, and the minimal performance from new will quickly deteriorate requiring further expenditure.

I wouldn't want to disagree with you Clive as I am aware that you are a suspension guru, but I would like to just comment on my personal experience with BC's if I may. I only used them on the road so I couldn't comment with regards to track use.

When my exe-tc's went on my 5 I had to replace them pretty quickly and BC's had just come out. I managed to get a set of BR's on an introductory special so I thought I'd give them a try so I went for them.

Once they were fitted and the geometry setup, I must say how nice the car was to drive with them on. They seem really well suited to the UK roads and I didn't find them crashy at all. The car felt very planted (in my pretty uninformed opinion) and it did give me confidence to drive the car a little bit harder.

So in my experience I found them fantastic for my needs and even though I had one of the very first sets I never experienced any issues with them knocking etc.

They were certainly the best option I had on my budget and they did their job very well for my needs. So budget coilovers do have a place in the market.

one thing i found with NEW products is the first of them seem to be the best ,as they are allways unsure of the quiality first off and also they havent learnt how to cut corners as well to keep further costs down

And thats the exact experience that the vast majority of our customers have.

MidnightE6,

Ok, I accept your point of view and am happy to agree to disagree.
