Something mental for £40K ?

Afternoon Ladies & Gents,

Let me tell you a story…

Last night I had a very successful chat with the misses about getting a new toy (sadly it’s not of the bedroom variety) In fact it’s a new car for me in which I only intend to use in the summer and I will probably end up selling come September/October.

I have been given the green light officially so I’m now on the prowl for something seriously filthy. Basically I’m after a car which is completely mental and has no regards for human safety.

Here are some cars below in which I will be looking at –

Nobile GTO 3R – In my opinion one of the most insanely fast controlled cars I have ever driven. It looks bad ass and from what I have read is reliable.

TVR Sagaris – Brutal performance, unreliable but my god is it one piece of hot ass.

Ultima GTR – Never driven one, never seen one on the road, been reading a lot about them and something tells me that I just have to own it. If anyone has first hand experience with these cars I would greatly appreciate your time in to telling me more about them.

Ariel Atom 3 – Driven one and I found it surprisingly difficult to master at high speeds. It will take a lot of practise to actually get good at driving this car. Anyone had experience with one of these?

That’s the four I’m currently looking at. Please feel free to add others which I may have missed out. Here’s a more detailed spec of what I am after –

2 Seats
Looks fast even when parked
Rare
Slightly bonkers
Rear wheel drive
Speed bump friendly (GTR could be to low?)

I think that’s about it.

Any help or advice given would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for reading.

AJ

I would be looking Ferrari 360 or something along those lines for 40k, something exotic that wont depreciate when you come to sell it again and i would have thought would be easier to sell on

Just buy a GT-R R35, at least you know it will not try and kill you every time you turn into a corner unlike the other cars you have listed. The Atom will spin even if you think about lifting off in a corner, never mind actually coming off the throttle!( Just make sure your life insurance is up to date if you choose any on that list.)

A 40k 360 will be a shed, they are not particularly reliable at the best of times.( I know as I instruct in them several weekends during the year, the one I had last week caught fire! )

Ha, good choice. I'm currently building a 76 boss mustang so that area is well covered.

Just sold my cobra, GT40 is a good shout. I'm not a huge fan of lotus and Chevy. I was lucky enough to own a v6 255 clio, although it looks great its quick enough. Porsche looks to plain in my opinion?

Wave £40k at Adam and see if he will part with his freshly built 9gt. He was looking for 45 but 40 might just tempt him
