I have to admit, after posting that I did think about the many times I've driven back to the fatherland, and once you get onto the M74 you barely see another car for 300 miles. IMO it still doesn't justify CC
But if you're doing long-haul Euro trips then why not. |

If you can't maintain a steady speed on most uk roads out of rush hour you need to question your observation skills or the speed you are driving at
As I said I use cruise all the time in my daily and in my last car even used it at 30 it helped stopped my speed creeping up. On motorways I set it at 80-85 and rarely need to touch the throttle when cruising just small adjustments on the stalk , of course on French autoroutes you can leave the cruise on for 100's of miles but it's designed to reduce the need for throttle control rather than eliminate it

8602A016 (Cruise Switch) 8614A018 (Brake pedal switch) Fit these cruise control will work on my Evo X FQ300 SST? I'm in for service in the next few weeks so may order them from Mitsu, so would good to be sure.

I see no reason for it not to work on the SST. As far as I am aware, the whole Cruise Control thing is tied in closely with the ASC and TC systems, so provided its got that, I have high hopes! And in the highly unlikely event that it doesnt work, well your steering wheel will definately look cooler for having the blank plate replaced by a nice switch ![]() ![]() |

For £88 in parts, I'd definately give it a whirl. Even if it doesn't get used 364 days a year, it could be a license saver on a long run. Has anyone got a morons guide to fitting? (I fall into that category for this stuff).
Although, if it's just those bits, surely Dealer fitting can't be too steep? ETA: Just had a look at the linked pics & think I'll retire, tail between my legs... There's no chance I'm going to pop the wheel off... I did that in my Golf, and it was never the same again! Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2 Last edited by michaelw1983; 02-07-2012 at 23:25.. |

Found non Japanese instructions about how to remove and replace the steering wheel here: http://forums.evolutionm.net/evo-x-h...evo-x-gsr.html
Looks like you have to be very careful with airbag and the steering position sensor.

5 minute job, disconnect the battery and the airbag yellow plug seperation won't raise your heart rate, steering sensor will dangle free, but it's just a case of making sure the wheel is straight before removal and refit. You'll need a torx T30 bit to remove the screws each side of the airbag, easy job! |

All fitted in about an hour; not a difficult job but I found I needed a T27 head to loosen the airbag. Just tested it and it works a treat
Not bad for £91 and an hours work.
