Hi guy iv recently come of age to be able to afford and insure an evo iv been looking and researching for the last 6 months and iv narrowed my search down to either an evo 8 or 9 i know the differences between the two bit id like to hear your feedback preferably from someone who has owned both. Ive had both an 8 (non mr) and my current 9. Both great cars and you won't go wrong with either model. I was looking for an 8mr when the 9 popped up within my budget, glad of my choice and find my self thinking..... What else could i have as much fun in for 20k?
Good luck with your choice

I also did the same, love my 9, will hugely regret selling when it goes, it's the best balance between speed, looks, handling. It's the last of the 7/8/9 shape and I recon the last of the good shape evo's. I'd not consider a 10 they just don't have the same appeal to me!

I've not owned a 9, but I'd say it depends entirely on your budget. If you can stretch to a 9, get a 9. The improvements are small, but they're improvements all the same. Better turbo, better spool, better torque (all relatively).

I love my 8, though
