It would probably cost me 60 quid a week in fuel and servicing every 4 months too I would reckon

Mine has done 25,000 miles a year on average so I tend not to add up fuel and servicing costs

I got a MK4 Golf PD130 as a daily driver, cant fault it, I get an avg 110-115miles to £15 around town and mways. I only use the 6 when I it is dry, and mostly on weekends.

mine gets use for fun days and driving your evo every day kills the joy you get from jumping from your daily driver car to your evo

I've been chatting to the wife and she doesn't object too much. To that end (I know most will hate me for this) can an evo be fitted with a tow bar to tow a small trailer?

I run an E91 325D as my daily shopping car, re-mapped to 260/400, Koni/Eibachs etc and find it very comfortable!

It depends what you want, if you want a nice interior, low cabin noise, good fuel consumption (mine averages 40) with excellent towing ability, I highly recommend it. It's also nicely balanced and has a good chassis for it's size and weight. (obviously nothing like an Evo though!)

http://www.watling-towbars.co.uk/imp...e_towbars.html

They can supply detachable tow bars for the VI, VII and VIII.

That does look cool as hell Clive. To be honest the major things putting me off something like it is the initial price and if it breaks It's guna cost me a small fortune to fix. An evo, although wont be as economical etc will cost about 5k less in the 1st place and if it breaks I know I can fix it myself costing a fraction of the amount a bmw or audi would cost that'd need to go into a garage.
