IX Sas and Exhaust Manifold

Afternoon all..

I'm led to believe the IX exhaust manifold if slightly different to the rest of the 63 family? As far as I'm aware it has a slightly different design and also the SAS is different? Can anyone confirm? Also if the SAS is different is it just the pipe ? And not the whole system?

Thanks

Not an expert and this might not help, but my SAS valve went a few years back for the usual bottom pipe corrosion...
I tried buying 2nd hand SAS valve from Evo 8... doesn't fit. Had to buy new 9 SAS.

The layout on older SAS valves is different, the bottom pipe sits at different angle, iirc like 90 degrees and sits on side on 8 SAS valve. It's likely the pipes that fit onto the SAS are different but I do not know if the metal pipes going into manifold are any different.

Ahh ok, so the connection that's different is at the other end? And single pipe that branches in to 2 pipes that connect to the exhaust manifold is the same as the others? So for example if you put a IX Manifold on an earlier model it would be a straight fit?

I always thought the SAS connections were different at Manifold? IIRC the heat shield on a IX is different?!

Sorry Mita, someone else will have to answer, I don't know if it's different manifold side.

I have a 9 manifold in my shed if you wish for pictures or dimensions.

Best bet is to ask Ross sport and see if the part numbers are different between models.

I ditched the SAS when I Mivec'd mine, the 8 stuff wouldn't fit the 9, but it's so long ago I can't remember which end is different though. I've still got an 8 manifold on mine, so I suspect it's that causing the problem.

I'm guessing then you could of retrofitted the whole of the 8 SAS then? I'm pretty sure it's not the inlet manifold end that's different, it's just the connections at the manifold itself.

Looking at pictures it seems to me (unless I've missed it) that the difference is at the inlet end not the exhaust manifold. But I'm going off pics and not my actual car .

So next question, would the SAS and manifold from a CP9a fit to a IX head?
