Managed to not spot a deflating winter tyre in time:wallbang:. There was a faulty valve present.
The tyre needs replacing when I next fit the winter tyres. Do I need to replace
both tyres on the axle or just the one? The 'good' tyre has 6mm of tread left.
A new tyre generally has around 8mm of tread so you'll probably get away with a difference of 2mm if the replacement tyre is the same manufacturer and model (the tolerance is around 4mm I believe), although if it were me personally I would change both tyres on the same axle.
When I had mismatched tyres on my X (in my case it was a greater than 1cm diameter difference) I ended up with occassional AWC fault codes being thrown and the car had a tendency to step the back end out a lot more easily.
