Bummer looks like a new ecu or am I able to get existing ecu reprogrammed with the new lock set? Car is a 03 import and that's all the info I have as been debadged etc, is there a site that anybody knows that I can put vin in and find out model details?

if its an import like you say then i dont think they came with a factory immobiliser, any good autospark will be able to locate and remove the alarm and immobiliser system,

however with only 2 posts dont expect much help on here tbh, im sure you can understand why.

As anybody who has the sense to look will see that I have been member since 2009!!!!! And this is my second 8 as sold the last one when wife fell pregnant, I bought this car from a dvla impound hence why all I have is the car and nothing else, thanks everybody with positive comments to help me not throw my money away and save a decent evo from being crushed, the specialist who cut new keys normally reprogram immobiliser but as it's import plugs were different, car also has a cobra alarm kit which was cut when dvla impounded the car which I will need to strip out and replace
What alarm does people rate as was looking to incorporate remote start and turbo timer

turns out reason that they could not reprogram keys to start car is because there was a cobra alarm and immobiliser fitted to car and had no fob, so out with that and lets start again lol, now time to start on the dents and scratches hopefully on the road in next few weeks, just in time for the snow:)
