Shifter to suit Quaife transmission

Engine bay sanding going well...still have plenty of welding to do, need this as stiff as possible.

A few shots of interior, welds sanded down etc. Rear screen and roof still need to come off.

Last of the cast vinyl is off, once all the work is complete we will re-wrap the car ready for the season

Arches finished

Prep for fuel filler underway, old filler flap will be plated and welded over.

Not evo related but whilst I was there, Wayne plugged my RS6 in to make sure we could do a software flash as I'm switching to a new turbo back exhaust system - been a while since I've seen such teeny turbos!

Amazing project Luke look forward to seeing it in action

Regarding the last (evo) photo; are you not going to be cutting most of the rear body work off for the Voltex kit? For the Tilton evo they made an one piece boot section/rear bumper out of carbon fibre.

We have a little more modifying to do to the rear end. I think the original rear 3/4 panels are going to stay on due to time constraints but will certainly be looking to remove them and replace with carbon panelling for the 2018 season.

I am sure we will learn an awful lot this year as we run the car and can build up a list of things to do over next winter.

Billet rear diff cover arrived

Work for air jacks coming along nicely

Bit of repair and tidying of metal work plus a lot of welding. Unused holes in the bulkhead will be plated and welded

Cabin floor pretty much stripped now. Won't be long until the shell can go to the spray shop

New carbon roof, carbon flocked dash and carbon dash pod are almost ready to ship too.

Engine bay ready for last coat of rust bullet. Difficult to show in photographs how much detailed work has gone into this.

Front arches now ready for last coat of rust bullet too

Making good progress in the cabin

Fuel system work underway, there is a little flex on the 3/4 panel when the probe is pushed in so Wayne is going to use some left over carbon sheet on the reverse side to reinforce the panel a little. The ATL stuff is just fantastic!

Even though the cell has long since been drained, the pungent smell of Q16 remains! Boy that stuff is strong, I think the guys were feeling a tad squiffy

There is a rather hefty mechanical fuel pump to go up front which feeds from a 5L (yes 5L!) swirl pot in the boot. We will run a low pressure pump to essentially start the car then a medium pressure pump to feed the swirl pot. The fuel lines we are using are twice the diameter of the current lines.

Funny you should say that as we have literally just talked about it! Having looked at Andy Barbour's car yesterday, I really liked Black. In the end we have decided to mask the cage off (which you have to do anyway as you can't paint the interior and cage at the same time due to overspray) and paint everything else in satin Black. This will leave the cage White so it will stand out - the cage will receive a refresh too. Black also works well as the Voltex kit is all Carbon.

We have something very special on the way for the rocker cover and it should look great in a Black engine bay.

I like that idea! Good point about satin too.

Yeah it's probably worst after it's combusted. Can't stand next to the car when it's running otherwise you end up with very watery eyes and trying to explain that there is nothing wrong you just really really love your car.
