Our big spoilers don't do anything but Audi fitted a tiny lip to the boot of the original TT as they Span out on lift off at high speed. It's tiny, teeny tiny....

Fitting it stopped people dying on such a regular basis.

I really don't like the look of them off the car, they look awful without them in my opinion, as do Impreza's, but each to their own. Wonder what an insurance company would have to say about it?

Those videos cut off before the corners begin, do you have the full versions?

Also fully aware Mitsubishi invested millions in r&d on the Evo platform - for rallying.
Yes I removed mine today ....but limiting speed to 80m

I'm not using it on track and want to look kool but not OT

The reason I removed it was the fixing to the boot lid was all rusty and
Seemed it needed a sanding back to bare metal and rust treatment

I liked mine so much I am keeping it off as I like the sleeper look

One thing I must say Evo owners are all tools including me in the biggest 1 lmao

Was really removed to rust treatment the internals of the wing. Il add some pictures up was surprised with the amount double sided tape was holding it on.

On refit il need the gasket seal if anyone knows the part #

Why am I keeping it off

Because I want a chunky lip spoiler like E10 has & is widely available.

Along with that I'm going with 9j rotas with wide trak set up

Then il be lowering/adjusting my coilovers

Why.....

Because this was my ultimate S4 with kW v3 coilovers and 9.5j rota torque drifts
And I'm applying thus look to my evo

It's not an evo without spoiler, it's iconic.

Mm, I was there, he went out and done 178, I said "nice one Rich that's quick mate" He said, " I'm not happy, I wanted 180" next thing you know spoiler was off everything got chucked out of the car and he went balls out to 183! But then took his foot of the throttle too fast resulting in the back end going light due to the spoiler off and coming around. Luckiest damn thing I've ever seen

OP can decide for himself best route to go ......straight to the pearly gates with his removed spoiler ( or is it wing )in hand
Silver ones will give faster top speeds as a given

Anyone watch the Sweden Rally this weekend when Ostberg lost his rear wing that apparently does nothing?

His butt was chewing the seat too. Some kind chap found it in the woods and returned it at service.

Mads commented that he would have taken it and put on his road car

Also for those that want a spoiler that actually creates enough kg of downforce which will actually make a difference in lap times, seek your solutions in aftermarket good quality and design rear spoilers, along of course with the rest of the downforce body parts as a complete set. As I said in an earlier post, examine the kits the time attack cars and setups use.

Also for those that want a spoiler that stops your car driving like it's on ice then just keep the one Mitsubishi gave you, along of course with the fallacious argument of picking a random video that confirms your bias and arbitrarily saying the result is down to the attribute you are championing while ignoring all sorts of other pertinent facts such as the car's suspension stiffness and ground clearance that give some cars better downforce without the need of a big spoiler.
