CP9A hvac lights

hey has anyone ever needed to put lights in for their hvac? fan button, air flow director button (dont know what to call it) etc? my lights are out and was wondering how you guys did IF you did and if you used LEDs, how well it went because I would prefer brighter lit buttons, mine are currently choosing of their own free will when they want to work...
