Oh Look, a question. SVA/v5 registration question?

Sorry to be another one of these threads, but a recently acquired Evo IX FQ360 (none MR) log book comes back... it only says Mitsubishi and no model number, not even Lancer. Weird? It is a first registered 2007 car... but on the front of the log book says SVA/IVA Cert Issued 07/2005.... Can anyone PLEASE explain this? It's not an import surely? - Declared new at first registration. The previous owner says it was "pre-registered"... Never did know what that meant but really confused at the 2005 thing.

If it's definitely an FQ then it's a UK model but it's easy enough to put fake badges on it. Think the centre consul also has a plaque in front of the gearstick.

Might be best contacting CCC with the chassis number to be sure.

The Evo IX didn't have full European type approval. So when Colt Cars UK imported Evo IX GSRs - they had to have each one individually tested for UK road legality purposes. This test is called the Single Vehicle Approval Test or SVA for short.

Colt Cars UK took the opportunity to upgrade and modify each car to FQ specification prior to putting it through the SVA test.

Knowing that this car has a SVA test record from 07/2005, this makes it definitely a "UK" car. Even though it is strictly speaking an imported car, it is an official import by Mitsu UK, rather than a grey import by a third party trader or individual.

Hope that makes sense.

Cheerz

Unhappy

FANTASTIC responses, Thank you!

I did read somewhere that you were a nice lot on here and it would appear so.

It does have a number by the gearstick and it sales reciepts from Mitsubishi. It appears that this was a sales room car for a while as Mitsubishi owned it before the last owner. I'm the third.

It's a NON MR FQ360... Before I bought it I looked through a fantastically comprehensive list of differences post on this site. Since buying it I've found that there is a slight difference with what Wikipedia think is different between the MR and non MR FQ360... Can anyone clarify, would the non-MR still have "New turbo with titanium aluminium alloy turbo fins"... Wikipedia suggests not

Thanks again for taking the time to reply!

You are correct, the non MR does not have the fancy turbo.
