Right I thought maybe changing the spark plugs would solve the issue of the misfire symptom I'm having when revving it up to just under 2k revs but it didn't solve it', not I'm thinking maybe coil pack or fuel system as something is not right with it, just wondered if anyone know could I try and Evo 8 coil pack on a 9 or are they different just so I can rule out that?

I haven't had the timing belt down for 2 years which is when I first brought the car and I had all the HKS belts etc fitted and it was running sweet up until after japfest, would a misfitted belt just show now or would I have noticed this from the beginning?

Also does anyone know if I can try a Evo 8 coil pack?

Ok, that's the reason I brought all the HKS stuff as it was meant to be stronger, went out today in it and it's tapping louder today and it's also very fuely, someone said it could be the MAF senor, could that cause it and would that make the car tap?

Also found this video on YouTube earlier and this is exactly how mine sounds

Right at the moment I've given up on finding the tapping sounds as I don't know what it is and my mechanic is going to have a look at it again as well as fit new brakes all round.

While I've been waiting I decided today I would re laquer my calipers, they have needed doing since I got the car which was over two years ago now. Please note I just re laquer so there are marks still on the calipers, I just wanted them shiny red again.

These were how they looked to start of with tho

Then after they had been done

While the wheels were off to I wanted to give them a good clean, can't wait to have my new brakes fitted Monday, hoping performance friction don't give off this amount of brake dust as the standard Brembo ones do

Back on the car

Also did the rears as well

On the car after

Hope you all like and I will update when I can and I have these awesome pads to go on the car Monday so hopefully i will have a good brake pedal feel after that.

Thanks all

Small but massive update for me, I finally found out what my tapping sound was and it's something so simple but you wouldn't even look for, I thought it was the engine giving up as it sounded very loud and also the car was running rough.

Anyway bob at dyno tech suggested looking at the EGR Blanking plate which is just under the throttle body as they blow a whole through them after time so got home and opened the bonnet and bang there it was, nice little hole in it with black soot all round it, couldn't believe it could be anything like that because of the tapping sound it was making but it sure is, so if anyone out there owns a 9 or 8 with these blanking plates in, please check it as it's taken me ages to find it and now I can stop worrying

Here is the picture of it how it should look:

Here is mine on the car :

Hope this helps a lot of people as it's racked my brains for a couple of months

Thanks all
