Something I need to get out of my system. I am an 80's child and grew up on a healthy dose of the WRC. From RS200 to Audi Quattro, sierras to Opel manta to evo and Subaru to 207 and xsara. I knew I wanted an evo the moment I saw Tommi flying round the stages at col de turini.

This is an evo.

A rare sight nowadays.

This is my evo

Not similar but used all the same.

Just to restore faith that the MLR is not turning into a bonhams catalogue and there are owners out there that use them please feel free to post them here. Dirty or big exhausts hanging out them or some rally inspired livery or round a track or dare I say crashed? They are all welcome. I have no issues with the cars that are polished to perfection as long as you have take them out.

Squeekyclean32 (sue and ja) is a prime example. Perfection but used for the school run!

One day you may have that dad like me walking with their son and stopping just to point and saying now their is proper car.

Post away.

I have no clue why you would want to take your EVO onto the dirt and **** it up.....and potentially write it off. Unless you have multiple chassis's to destroy or a race team it's a stupid idea. These cars are the last of a dying breed, they need to be respected and taken care of, not abused. Their exploits on the dirt are well know and proven already, by you going out there you are not going to prove anything. But if you don't care or respect the machine too much by all means do it........sad.

Wow! Good response. Did I miss something have I bought a fragile super car or did i buy a four wheel drive rally homologation? The chassis is in better condition than most on here Anyone who had the chance to see it at autotroque in April open day will confirm that. I have had it years and apart from a clutch and blowing a hose which cost a jubilee clip it has never gone wrong. How many can say that. One picture does not tell a story.

You are driving the wrong car if you are treating it like a China doll. Should no one be tracking them or super rover taking his rallying. At least I am enjoying mine instead of wondering if there is moisture in the air.

I set this up to see if anyone else still liked to enjoy their cars. Or has the forum turned into a place where everyone gets excited over a car that has never been used. if I wanted to see a factory fresh car I would pop down Mitsubishi and see one of their new range.

I am happy to show people pics of my exploits. I have driven mine over the speed limit, I have driven it to the ring and back in four days with several hard laps Twice and not missed a beat. And I have had a go at seeing if the 4wd is really what it is cracked up to be off road.

Mine has mud still under it, tired paint, some small battle scars but I love it and more than anything I Enjoy it for what it is.

I care for this car more than any other. That is why it is used and why i have had it for years. I couldn't have it sat there wondering what it was like to drive for fear of losing £10!

The MLR is dying because of Facebook and owners overpricing their cars and not letting people who can't afford them and enjoy them have them. Look at the sprint series....

Rant over go and enjoy the cars for **** sake!

Potentially write off a car that was designed to go GrpN rallying by driving it in a field?

I've read some boll0x in my time, but that takes the biscuit!

It's a joke aidy. I can only see so many pics of cars pushed to the end of the driveway and claimed they were out for a nice drive so got some pics. I don't mind the restorations it's the bubble cars and collectors that are destroying the market. I have been here since 06 and it has changed massively. Such a shame I will continue to post pics of it being used. If I can afford the support team to come with me due to its fragility.

Few of mine then.

That moment waiting on the line where you're going through the course in your head, waiting for the flag to drop

In case you kids are wondering what that strange effect on the paintwork is; it's called dirt

Here I am swerving to avoid the grass right at the last second. As we know, merely touching it would have destroyed my car Those grass-lined tracks are the most dangerous tracks of all, I'd rather race on tracks with concrete walls.

Here I get too close to the grass and my wheels start to catch fire. Stay off the grass kids, m'kay?

Here's that stuff called dirt again, only this time in yellow

Of course you can ****ing write it off when hits a ****ing tree. You heros go and do it, not my car and don't give a **** if you bend it.

Just don't feel sorry for yourself for being a dickhead.

Horses for courses IMO.

My III I really looked after BUT I used it for Tarmac Rally, Street Sprints, Hill Climbs, Autocross, Circuit, and a little Dirt Trial.

My red TME I only used on circuits because I was too afraid to bend it, and while it was mint and a dream car of mine, I often thought I should have just got a white one and used it like my III lol.
