Interesting question, though I suspect you'll only get answers from previous pink owners who sold their's a couple of years ago and now seeing them double in price...?
10k for a red one 5 years ago and was a minter - and we bought it in at 7k - someone still uses the same pic for selling stripes of that same car - not that that matters lol
i payed £3200 for a 5 that i broke to fix the rally car
funny how some prices havent changed much 10 years ago when i started with evos, a 7 RS ,my fav evo ,was £10k still today you cant find a good one for that
About 10-12 years ago. I brought my EVO 4 for £6k. After 3 years and 50k miles sold with a broken engine for £2k! At the time it'll probably cost £2k to fix, then it'll only worth £3k. But if you find a good one nowadays, it'll be asking for £6k again!
Sold my Grey IX MRFQ360 for £15k in 2014 (only sold due to job loss and money had ran out), sold again last year for £25k with an extra 11k miles on it.
A friend bought a V for around £4k in about 2009/10. Forged it, GT30 turbo and what not, made low 500s power wise and I think he sold it for £5500 in 2012.
Another pal bought a IV for £2500 about 2yrs ago as it had been sat for a few years. It has AP brakes, Tein coilovers and a few other jazzy bits along with a really clean shell. Easily worth £5k today I'd say!
I've just bought a standard 4 in vgc for £4900 which i thought was a bargain. The only modifications it has are an airfilter and cat back exhaust. Trying to get a standard airbox for it now and it still has the flare.
2006 IX FQ300 in Ruri Blue, 52k, £11,500 (2013)
1996 V RS with 71k £6700 (2014)
2000 Red VI TME with 73,000Kms £18,500 (2015) - re-sold 5 months later for £24,500
It's the same right across the board of desirable cars, money is worth nothing sat in the bank so cars are the latest way to make money. A rise in interest rates will slow the market down, a huge rise in interest rates (which won't happen) will make the car price hype crash.
Haven't sold an Evo yet. Sold a fiesta rs turbo for £500 though and swapped a series 2 rs turbo (granted wasn't running) for a Vectra Sri worth £600. Scrapped a fiesta turbo shell as well. Oh, and a 1982 Xr3 Sunburst orange with clover leafs for £500
Just wait until they turn 25 and the Yanks can import them - prices will go through the roof and I'm not just talking about red Maks. Keep an eye on the price of Skylines and Supras too.
I sold a 6 back in 2010 for £8000. The guy who bought it from me could only get £4500 for it 6 months later
