here's what it did when I added the BR shorty, Stage 3 head + BF272 cams on 93 octane at 32psi with my existing HTA 35R .63

before with stock shorty/head/hks 280 and after. I also just ordered a new turbo. The billet compressor wheel is going from a 59mm to a 62mm should add a nice bump in power without much increase in "lag" also I'll be going from the .63 turbine housing to the .82 to reduce the back pressure further. This should equal even better pump gas power The new Turbo still uses the same 35R center section and is built by forced performance, they named it the HTA86.

The evo went a best of 11.45 @ 124.5 on 93 octane @ 30psi estimated 500awhp and I'm going tonight with slicks and 100awhp more...hope to get that 10.99 @ 130mph I wanted. The new turbo should be here in a few weeks.

I put a bead of expoxy around the outer edge of the honeycomb where it touched the plastic to make sure the turbo didn't eat it This make the load logged jump from ~ 340kpa to 380kpa where it's clipped. I'll likely simply remove the stock honeycomb altogether and tune around it soon to purposely lower the airflow read by the ecu and it might remove a little restriction as well.

thanks karl for the kind words, that was very nice. I wish I could do business here but basically I was told that I was too inexpensive and that would ruffle feathers with the existing vendors. My question back to them was wouldn't it make sense to cater to the paying members instead of the vendors? I didn't get a response But that's okay, I stay plenty busy tuning cars all around t he world remotely. I just though some people in remote areas with no access to a dyno/tuner would love this new concept.

Very nice Mellon.

I am tempted to go 37r but not sure if the oem ecu/maf would be able to support that turbo.

Whats your thoughts?

firstly the 37R wouldn't be my choice, a little laggy for the dismal bump in power over the HTA 35R and it's successor the HTA86 which spools similarly to the HTA35R and gives a nice bump in power up top... but that's another conversation

It really depends on how far you're going to push it. Up to 600awhp I've had no problem controlling fuel/timing but right at 600awhp I'm so deep into the 380kpa load limit from the stock mas that it's not adding fuel for increased airflow. I can certainly add it manually in the map as needed and that's working great but the fuel map is looking pretty funky with a very "rich" last column. My plan is to remove the honeycomb and purposely reduce the airflow read by the MAS and as a side effect possibly reduce the inlet restriction through the MAS. Of course by doing this I might end up at the wrong load column and thus fuel/timing but that can be corrected for. I've done this with my 700awhp TT Stealth and in fact I even allowed completely umetered air in after the mas via a 1" hole with a filter on it to make absolutely sure the size/shape of the MAS wasn't causing an inlet restriction.

Sweet

Are you running a 9500rpm rev limit then?

yes it's at 9500 so I can cross the finish line in 4th gear. I might lower it a little as I figure out the maximum RPM I need to do that at the track. No use wearing the motor out needlessly.

thanks bud, next time I'll drop the pressure in the tires from 30 to 15psi and do a burnout first. I really wasn't expecting it to camp out at 9500 for so long haha but it sure was fun

I hit the track again last night

93 octane (no meth water or alk)
stock ecu
stock mas (still has honeycomb and glue holding it in)
BFG Drag Radials
no weight reduction, in fact I had some camera gear and a 30-40lbs of tools in the trunk. Minus the drag radials, this is exactly how I drive the car to work every day.

out of the 11 second club and into the 10's

60' 1.68
1/8 6.78 @ 107.66
1/4 10.41 @ 135.13

I only made 3 attempts and I called it a night, that's good enough for now I still didn't have my logger cable so I couldn't adjust the tune and it's pretty rich at very high rpm so there might be a little more in it with that and a better 60'.

I'll edit video tonight most likely, in car and out car

current mods:
BR HTA 35R .63 @ 34.5psi on 93 octane ~600awhp

PTE 1000cc injectors
BR 2.0L
BR Stage 3 head
BR BF272 cams
BR twin walbro fuel pumps
BR 3" tbe, test pipe, bullet muffler
BR 3" intake pipe + Mas adapter
BR UICP
BR Mini Battery
BR Race FMIC
BR COP
ARP head studs
PPI ported stock intake manifold
PPI 65MM throttle body
Tilton Twin Disc Carbon clutch
My tuning www.mellontuning.com

edit* my brother Turbomiketsi got me some info from the track website last night:

Mellon's was car #4

it seems the powershifting throws it off a little but it's still helpful when you can't get to the track.
