GUTTED ,lee holland stages rally
well the only time i lend my car out after 3+ years of using it and it breaks down
the lad i lent it to just queued up for the start of the second stage and the car just dies ,it wouldnt start ,no spark ,no issues what so ever nothin loose evertything got a waggle nothing seemed to work ,no one had any spares out of the other evo crews doing the event ,so GAME OVER the first time in 17 years of rallying ive had a car break down ,ive broke one and crashed um but never had a silly little issue put use out i swopped the cam sensor when i got home to see if it was that but it seems the CRANK SENSORS to blame im SO mad with my self but im sure its one of those things

....we know how you feel mate.Dont be mad tho...by your own admission you've had a good run of rallies. Was a good rally,some REALLY quick escorts out there swallowing up the evo's and focus's ![]() My old man finished about 19th/20th overall...not bad considering he was seeded all wrong and had 2.4 BDA screaming escorts up his chuff all day. Drive of the day had to be the pink clio!...what a machine!!...was leading the rally till near the end (the subaru/focus wrc spec lads were not impressed ![]() )

Very hard on tyres that place tho...my old man ruined a full set,front and rear (rx7 pirelli)
Fast rally!...bit too fast for a turbo restricted evo. ![]()

im more Ped OFF as i never even got the see the lad drive the car ,it is bizzzare seeing it being driven around the service area by some one else but it would have been nice to see it on the stages
im sure we will be there next year

FOUND IT , cranks sensors chewed itself to death ,i screwed on a new one and BINGO it fired up perfectly
cranks walked HUGE , OH well its scrap now ,bring on the new engine

ive an 8 260 engine going in ,its likly to get some MR cams bunged in for good measure it will have my 8MR turbo i run now as well ,may be a 9 one if needed , balance shaft removed ,a set of ARP bolts top and bottom ,fully mapped anti lag and as much BOOST as i dare
as ive go though the new engine it will have allsorts of weight dropped out of it as well like all the cast blank lugs chopped of that arnt ,used alloy bolt that can be used instaed of steel ,and as much of the brackets as i can shaved off and lightened having used the car for a good few years ive learned to love it ,its just not fast enough, no where near ,it was never ment to be anything really as the engine wasnt supposed to last as long as it has, so now its gone and died its get out again all guns a blaze ive also a whole load of other weight saving ideas to come as well once i get started i will start a thread for all to see ,and if anyones got any other ideas id like to here them

Bit late I know but I was wondering what went wrong when I didnt see it back out again. I was on finish line radio in the morning and start line radio in the afternoon.
Steve Quigley can certainly pedal his little Clio. Phil what car was your dad in? |
