A seller on eBay caught my attention earlier, he's selling a very tidy red IX MR FQ360, albeit at a very optimistic price.
Anyway in the description said seller makes the claim of seeing the import records from Mitsubishi themselves just last week and it stated only 100 were ever imported as opposed to the 200+ commonly assumed.
Then it goes on to state that there are only 7 or 8 FQ360 by HKS models in the uk, really!? Ok so I have one as does Gavalar, going off the above figures I must have seen the other 6 a dozen times at various meets and car shows.
Contrary to previous Information supplied by Mitsubishi UK we believe that there were only ever 100 Evo IX MR models Imported into the uk after reading the original shipping manifest just last week! This makes the Evolution IX FQ360 By HKS model even rarer than we thought, It also explains why DVLA information only shows a maximum of 48 road registered in the UK and just 44 licenced in the last quarter of 2017. The DVLA records have always mystified me but now we have copies of the shipping papers they explain a lot, additionally looking at the registered numbers of the standard Evo IX FQ360 its our guess that the Mitsubishi supplied 220 figure came from the combined number of standard and MR FQ360 models produced. Therefore this being #200 is one of only 15 Mr models and one of only 7 or 8 MR FQ360 by hks produced. May very well be the last MR 360 HKS (PALMA RED) of the factory. Shipping documentation details The following Evo IX MR FQ360 models shipped to the UK. A39 Grey 55 Units, A31 Silver 25 Units, P23 Red 15 Units, W13 White 5 Units.
DVLA numbers for the IX are not consistent with the other versions so I'm not sure how much they can be trusted. Also the build numbers are random, not in order. Just more bs from sellers trying to make the cars look more attractive than they are.
Motor hub was selling that 9 mr 360 for £17k earlier in the year and then another garage had it up for £20k around a month ago and now it's at £29k:lol:
I am still now wiser and have kept a up to date list, I have found a handful of UK MR's with chassis numbers not on the 100 car manifest, of later chassis numbers so more must of come across, however I am unsure how many, Mitsubishi have no idea and will not commit to numbers, but I dont think its near the 200 first thought.
As for the numbers now he is just pulling them out of thin air.
9mr uses the 71 series turbo same as the gt,never seen anything to suggest the s-ayc diff is altered from the revised 8mr unit, they just made minor changes to the operation of it
In the pictures on that ad, there is a picture showing a badge with MR FQ 360 #198
Then a few Pic's down it shows a different badge/build number of #200.
Very dodgy in my opinion
I thought it may be on full boost a touch before that. Appreciate you putting that up
