Introducing my build project - evo eXcalibur
Hi guys, I thought you might be interested in the development of my evo build; project eXcalibur.
Many of you know me from way back and know I've always had evos, but I've been hankering for something a little special so thought I'd do my own build, and here it is for you all to see, and maybe get inspired by? I'm going to go into a lot of detail in this blog and leave nothing out.
In April I bought a car, and it looked like this;

I took it to some guy, and three weeks later it looked like this;

He made the badges black, too. They look like this;

The next step in the build was to pay the man so I could drive the car home. The build was coming along nicely and I was inching closer to getting the car set up just how I wanted it. Next step was to fill in the change of car details on the V5 document. This was to let the government know the car had changed colour.

I put that in an envelope and took it to the Post Office and they sent it off. I waited a few weeks and I got a new V5 back. I was now so close to touching the dream...I could smell it. There was one final hurdle though.....
....I had to fill in the license retention document so that I could have my personal plate transferred across.

That's not my actual document, by the way. I found that on the internet. Mine looked the same only it had my details on it. I don't know who this guy is but I hope he doesn't suffer any form of identity theft.
(Edit: I now know who he is. He is an unhappy chappy so I have removed his details
)
I had to buy another envelope and it was another trip to the Post Office and another two week wait. When I got the OK from the government, I put my plate on the car and it looked like this;

It was a long, hard build. The whole thing took me 7 long weeks of waiting. I had to wait three weeks for it to stop being black. Two weeks for the government to know it had stopped being black. Then two weeks for the government to let me tell the world I'm the kind of person who has a personalised plate.
Phew! What a journey, but project eXcalibur is finally complete.
I'd like to thank everyone who helped with this build, but I don't see why I should. They were simply doing their job and were financially remunerated. No-one thanks me for doing my job.
